Hi I'm Peter, I'm a newcomer to the group joining in 2010. I was born in Edgware during the war and lived in London until my marriage in 1966, I then moved to Braintree and recently to South Woodham.
I joined the GPO via the Civil Service exam in 1959 and remained until early retirement in 1992. Although I still play table tennis, have taken up golf and have a part-time gardening job, I have a lot more time to spend on reading and writing poetry.
In 1996 I completed a 3 year NEC course on Discovering Poetry which opened up a whole new understanding and greater enjoyment of the many different styles on offer.
Since joining the Scribblers, I hae been involved in short story writing for the first time. Although a novice, I am finding it quite exciting both writing and listening to other members' stories.
Poetry remains my greatest love and although I have had some minor success in competitions I still await "the Big One!" Lack of success however, does not deter me as the read, writing & listening are rewards in themselves!
