As part of BBC Children In Need 2002, the Woodham
Writers put together a compilation of some of their work. On Saturday 9th November
2002 they were at the South Woodham Ferrers Christmas Lights switch on. A great night
was had by all (even if it took 3 attempts to get the darn lights on!) Thanks to
Ruskin Crafts for allowing the bright yellow gazebo to take over the area outside the
shop! As well as this, there was a raffle with prizes donated by the shops in South
Woodham Ferrers, which was also drawn on Saturday 9th. Congratualations to all the
winners and many thanks to those who donated prizes which ranged from cuddly toys to
gift vouchers.
The next stop was the SWF Victorian evening on November 29th with more copies of the
book for sale. This turned out to be a bit of a wet evening, but they still managed
to sell lots of copies and even tried to flog them to a copper - he refused =(!
Thanks to all the customers who bought the book. Your help was greatly appreciated
and we hope you enjoyed the read. The grand total raised was £550 which all
went to BBC Children In Need!
If you would like a copy of the book, we still have some available, for more details
